Soooooo...

I'm not going to make an official blog about my NY trip due to the following reasons:
1. It is not about St. Louis
2. I have too many pictures of it, most of which will be on facebook anyways
3. I am currently very sleepy

However, I would like to note that I had an amazing time with Marina, Janet, Steve, and others in the following locations:

The High Line
The Met
Union Square Park
Washington Square Park
Times Square
Bryant Park
Grand Central Station
Rockefeller Center
St. Patrick's Cathedral
Brooklyn Bridge
Manhattan Bridge
Chinatown
Little Italy
Ground Zero
Central Park
Brighton Beach
Korea Town
Madison Square Garden
JFK Airport (I was there for 3 hours, it totally counts)

Pridefest St. Louis was this past weekend and I signed up to cover the event for internship. I think it could've been fun; however, I went by myself and it was 100 something degrees out.

These were people that hardcore wanted some free stuff from the man in drag.

That guy was super drunk/really excited. He was telling the guy in the booth how awesome he was for serving him more alcohol.

Usually I am pretty good at sneakily taking pictures. Oh well, I love the expressions on the men's faces. I find the second one especially adorable.

Pridefest is definitely only something to do if you bring friends and cash (both of which I did not have with me). There were lots of booths that wanted you to sign up for their email lists, businesses that wanted you to buy their stuffs, and that like. I passed by every booth and stopped into a lot of them, but that in itself was very boring. There was a performance stage and a dance party area, but most of the crowd was just hanging out at the park with their friends, drinking and chatting. I almost went up to talk to some groups, but chickened out. After getting sufficiently cranky from the heat, I left hungry and sweaty.

Last Friday Michelle and I did a lot of yard work in our backyard. After doing such a fantastic job, we rewarded ourselves with a pool day.

Turnure and Max were playing fun games. It's nice to see them having good clean fun. It reminded me of hanging out at the pool in junior high.

Flanagan's pups came out too. The wee one (Ike) is the new one. The larger one (Winston) is jealous of the wee one.

Ike being tiny and adorable.

For dinner, we ate at Dewey's Pizza. I've eaten here countless times, but I had never been to the new location (Webster Groves). It was in a cute area; I had fun watching all the townsfolk walk by. This is our friend Jim making us a pizza. Apparently I was referred to as the creepy Asian girl taking pictures. Typical.

Dewey's Pizza is delicious. Michelle and I split their summer salad that probably had some weird name because Dewey's likes to play like that. It had strawberries and blue cheese. Yum! We did half meatball and half bbq chicken. Also yum. The crust (which is my favorite part of all pizzas) is flavorful in a subtle way that compliments, but doesn't overpower the sauce/toppings. I ordered a summer wheat ale to go along with my pizza and it tasted disgusting. I was very disappointed.

Steve passed all of his CPA exams! To celebrate, I suggested we go out for ice-cream. Ted Drewes Frozen Custard (St. Louis Hills) is a St. Louis tradition. Don't get me wrong; I like it, but I don't think it lives up to the hype. I love that you have tons of topping options and most of their original creations I've had are great. However, the vanilla frozen custard itself isn't the best I've ever had. That being said, I would recommend Ted Drewes to those who haven't been.

Steve got a Raspberry Oreo concrete and it was groood.

not-so-candid photo of the joys of ice-cream

BIG drawback of Ted Drewes is the ubiquitous high schoolers.

Michelle and I went to Lauemier Sculpture park today (Kirkwood or Sunset Hill). It was disgustingly humid out. Michelle and I walked around and found some fun stuff. She even pointed out some fun nature facts for me (she is such a good Boy Scout). We discussed our thoughts on sculpture parks, such as whether or not sculpture parks were even a thing to be liked.

Creepy children. They seriously freak me out. Very "Children of the Corn."

It's like Where's Waldo! Find the Michelle.

Some detailing on the balls (yes, I said balls).

I enjoyed Laumeier Sculpture Park. I would go here again, especially since they had a nice path. There were a couple of people there just going for a walk on the path. However, I don't know that it would make my Top Ten List.

Michelle, Max, and I went to Wired Coffee (located in Sunset Hills) last week. Michelle and I split a Caesar Salad Wrap and it gave us weird stomach pains later. However, the cheese danish was dee-lish.

Max is a comedian, so this is him working on his material.

Michelle is an excellent job-hunter. She's already killed like 4 jobs (WORD PLAY). But seriously, this is her diligently applying for jobs online.
