Pridefest

Pridefest St. Louis was this past weekend and I signed up to cover the event for internship. I think it could've been fun; however, I went by myself and it was 100 something degrees out.

These were people that hardcore wanted some free stuff from the man in drag.

That guy was super drunk/really excited. He was telling the guy in the booth how awesome he was for serving him more alcohol.



Usually I am pretty good at sneakily taking pictures. Oh well, I love the expressions on the men's faces. I find the second one especially adorable.

Pridefest is definitely only something to do if you bring friends and cash (both of which I did not have with me). There were lots of booths that wanted you to sign up for their email lists, businesses that wanted you to buy their stuffs, and that like. I passed by every booth and stopped into a lot of them, but that in itself was very boring. There was a performance stage and a dance party area, but most of the crowd was just hanging out at the park with their friends, drinking and chatting. I almost went up to talk to some groups, but chickened out. After getting sufficiently cranky from the heat, I left hungry and sweaty.
